Lebanon offers an array of natural landscapes. Within a very short time, you can travel from the seacoast to the mountains, where you can find a diversity of forest types. In the rich Bekaa valley lays lush green wide plains and a bit further away arid desert landscapes.
The long history and the many civilizations that passed through Lebanon left their imprint all over the country. The architectural richness dates back to the Canaanites, the Phoenicians, the Roman & Byzantine Empires, passing through the Ottoman period, the French mandate until today.
